Lefkas is the fourth largest of the Ionian islands & is a very green
island with an abundance of olive groves, orange & lemon orchards,
forest firs and Springtime arrives with an array of beautiful wild
flowers.
The west coast has very steep mountains leading down
to some of the best beaches on the island with the evenings offering magnificent sunsets over the Ionian Sea.
On the east coast the sloping mountains offer incredible views of the
surrounding islands and the mainland and beautiful sun and moon rises
glistening over the turquoise waters - here you will find the main harbours
of Nidri, Nikiana and Lygia where fisherman mingle amongst the yachting
fraternity.
To the north is the main town of Lefkas with its new
Marina , and to the South, Vasiliki the windsurfing & hobie cat capital of the island.
There are many places to visit on the island where you can go just
to lose
yourself and go back in time. Lefkas maintains its character and charm due to the
absence of mass tourism and strict laws against construction of high rise
buildings.
This makes Greece's little know island of Lefkas the perfect retreat for those
seeking a permanent or holiday home in the sun.
